Program recommendation for the long weekend

The 38th Festival of Folk Arts is organized in Budapest between 17-20 August 2024.

Its location, as in previous years, is the Buda Castle.

At the largest artisan festival in the Carpathian Basin, you can not only admire and buy folk handicrafts, but visitors can learn about the secrets of ancient trades and get a glimpse of the work of artisan communities in the Carpathian Basin in the nearly one hundred visual workshops.

At the country's largest family festival, the youngest are welcomed with children's program, folk children's games, folk games from the old days, and adults with a fashion show and a dance hall on the Tóth Árpád Promenade, Táncsics Mihály és Tárnok street and through Szentháromság square to Dísz square.

The best folk musicians, world musicians and folk dance ensembles of our country will perform at the festival.  On August 20th, St. Stephen's Day and the Feast of the New Bread are greeted with a blessing of bread and a procession of the masters.
